Dog Owners Unite!
Our dogs are in
danger of losing access to Coindre Hall, West Hills, and other Suffolk County parks.
Current Status
The Cooper bill to establish Dog Parks has been temporarily tabled
pending a local environmental study at Coindre Hall which was recommended by Leg.
Ginny Fields (Oakdale).
Upon completion, findings will be submitted to the Council
on Environmental Quality. We foresee no serious issues. The Bill will then be
rescheduled for a vote before the Parks Committee & then the full Suffolk County
Legislature.
Petition Drive
A major Petition drive has begun throughout
Suffolk to gather signatures from folks who believe that Dog Parks are necessary for
the essential health & well being of our dogs. Our goal is 25,000 signatures. It will
be presented to the Suffolk County Legislature at a future public hearing. Please help
by completing a one page form containing 10 signatures from friends, relatives or
coworkers. A massive response from voters will help to influence the Legislators who
will vote on the Cooper Bill. It is a two-sided self mailer to be returned to
H-Dog. Click here to download a copy of the petition in Microsoft Word format.
