The Town of Huntington Supports Dog Parks
Huntington Town Supervisor Frank Petrone has reached an agreement with
LIPA (Long Island Power Authority) to establish two dog runs at the Town Animal
Shelter on right of way land adjacent to the shelter, that LIPA owns. One run will be
for the shelter dogs to for obedience training with the goal of making them more
adoptable & thus, saving lives. The other will be for the general dog population of
Huntington
Township. Supervisor Petrone, himself a dog owner, envisions this facility becoming a
model for all of Long Island through the sponsorship of dog shows, agility competition
& obedience/behavior training. There is no reason why this cannot be "the best" says Petrone.
Clearly, the Town of Huntington recognizes its responsibility to its
citizens and is proactively moving ahead to satisfy the health needs of man's (and woman's) very best friend.
When will Suffolk County government acknowledge the Town
of Huntington's leadership & accept what the rest of the nation has already
accomplished?
