Suffolk County Legislator Jon
Cooper (D-Huntington) (email,
website), who is
fighting to save Coindre Hall as a dog park, will be attending our next H-DOG
meeting on February 6th at 7 p.m. at the Huntington Library! Not only is
Jon fighting to save what is now the “crown jewel” of Suffolk County dog parks, he
also is the sponsor of legislation (IR-2253)
that would allow for the creation of dog parks throughout the 43,000-acre Suffolk
County park system.
Come discuss with Jon what we dog owners need and want at Coindre
Hall and other dog parks. How big should the dog park be? Should it be completely
fenced in? What amenities do we want—trails through the woods, open fields, water
fountains, benches, access to water?
If you love Coindre Hall and want to see other dog parks created,
come to the meeting! This may be your last chance to be
heard…don’t miss it!!!
