On Fri., June 27th at
11 a.m. at Coindre Hall in Huntington, County Executive Robert Gaffney will sign
into law Suffolk County Legislator Jon Cooper’s groundbreaking bill to create dog
parks at Coindre Hall and West Hills Park!
The bill signing ceremony is a
big deal because these are Suffolk County’s first two legal dog parks and because
the County Executive holds such events for only a few bills and their sponsors. This
is our chance to show him, the media, and all Suffolk County dog owners how
important off-leash areas like Coindre Hall are to us and our dogs and how powerful
dog owners can be when they organize!
This is also
a good chance to come thank Jon for his tireless efforts on our behalf. Jon will be
involved in a tough battle for re-election this fall against Allan Binder’s chief legislative aide! Come let Jon know how important
he has been to our cause and that he can count on us this fall.
We had to fight a very tough
political battle against determined opponents to save Coindre Hall as a dog park.
Now, it’s time to celebrate our victory. The media will be there. We’ll be
there. You should be there, too! And, don’t forget, we
can bring along those family members who love Coindre Hall the most: our dogs!
Thanks for all your support!
P.S. Make sure to bring a leash
because we’ll need everyone’s attention during the ceremony. |
